The best Slayers 2 fishing setup is the legendary fishing rod, refined to around level 5, with the Legendary Fisherman, Salvager and Leviathan Hunter titles and fish heads as bait. Together they add enough luck that rare fish become your common catches, and lost items and ore turn up constantly.
Fishing in Slayers 2 (Project Slayers 2) is a lot more than a side activity. It's one of the best sources of ore, and the only way to get lost items like the shotgun schematic and the lost set. How much you get depends almost entirely on your luck, and the setup below, based on midnyte's max-luck fishing breakdown, stacks every luck source available.
Once it's all in place, rare fish effectively become the new common fish, and legendary catches and lost items start coming back to back.
1. Get the legendary fishing rod
The legendary rod is the core of the setup. The path to it, in order:
- Get the rare fishing rodYou need it before you can start the legendary rod quest.
- Fish for the drowned lureGo up on the rock ledge opposite the water spout and fish there until you get the drowned lure.
- Fish up two crustons and two craftonsYou need both for the next step.
- Meet the man under the bridgeTalk to the character under the bridge nearby.
- Fish in the special spotFinish by fishing in the spot he leads you to. There's also a legendary fish step along the way.

2. Refine the rod (to about level 5)
Refining your rod raises its fishing luck, and midnyte's level 5 legendary rod is a big part of his setup. The cost climbs quickly, though. Beyond level 6 or 7 it usually isn't worth it, because the same materials could upgrade a weapon like a Nightfall serpentine katana or sickles. Refine until you have a solid amount of luck, then stop.

Leviathan Hunter takes the longest. midnyte got there on his second night of running a fishing macro, which is exactly the kind of grind a macro is for.
4. Use fish heads as bait
Put fish heads on your rod for a big boost to bite speed and extra luck. With the full setup, midnyte's character sits at roughly one full point of luck, which he describes as effectively doubling your luck.
What the max-luck setup gets you
The squid beanie, shotgun schematic, lost set and lost shotgun, which count toward Salvager. With max luck, midnyte pulled one on his very first cast.
Refinement ore and rare items turn up far more often. He went from about 20 to 55 ore over two nights of AFK fishing.
Back-to-back legendaries become normal, speeding up Leviathan Hunter.
Zebra fish, golden fish and other rares replace common catches entirely.
Tips
- Help friends get the rare rod. You can take a fish off another player's hook, so let a friend grab your golden fish.
- Stand away from walls and the water's edge. Hooked fish can pull you forward, and standing near a wall pulls you into it.
- Robux luck boosts probably don't help. midnyte doesn't believe Robux luck multipliers affect fishing.
- Don't over-invest in the rod. Weapons are usually a better use of refinement materials past level 6 or 7.
